Having retired end of 2016 after 40 years in the food industry in South Africa, I have started my own consulting business. I aim to provide companies with an efficient and cost effective consulting service in any of the areas mentioned above.
On the Food Safety and Quality Management side I have developed systems that met the requirements of the BRC, IFS and Manufacturing Standards of major retailers such as Tesco, Morrisons and customers the world over including the East. I have gained in-depth knowledge of customer requirements of canned, aseptic and fruit cup products in almost all international markets.
On the Operations side, I have groomed operations teams to meet the operational and hygiene standards of the standards mentioned above and pass related 3rd party audits consistently.
On the Management side, I held the following positions : Operations Director – 4 years, Divisional Technical Manager (Long life Foods; Canning, Aseptic, Fruit cup) – 5 years, Fruit Procurement Manager – 4 years , Operations Manager – 6 years and several lower level positions in operations and quality/food safety management. I have also gained very good experience in costing, loss control, production efficiency improvement and project management.
